Embracing the Waning Moon

As we move through the week, we'll be working with the energies of the waning moon, a time deeply associated with the essence of autumn. This phase invites us to reflect, organize, release, and root back into our hearts and truth. A time to give back what no longer serves us, to replenish the soil that the seed of our heart is planted in.

The waning moon aligns with the west cardinal point—the direction of the setting sun—and resonates with the water element. This is a period of flowing back down to earth, offering us a chance to tune into our emotions and assess what we want to channel or divert in our lives.

Collective Insights

Rites of Passage:

In our journey through each rite of passage, we gather profound wisdom that extends beyond our personal experience—it serves both our community and the collective. These moments of insight can be challenging and uncomfortable, but they hold valuable information meant for more than just ourselves. You become a channel for this wisdom, contributing to the greater whole.

It’s common to feel that these significant moments—such as losing virginity, menarche, or childbirth—have been taken from us or lost. However, they are not gone; they are merely hiding, safeguarding their deep wisdom.

Take a moment to close your eyes and smile. When you become still and turn inward, you will remember you hold all the keys to unlock the doors that protect these gifts.

Reflective Question:

What have you recently remembered that brought you back to a state of knowing you are on the right path or guided you to take a different direction?

Celebrate:

Take a moment to celebrate what you have recently remembered. Acknowledge the feeling of knowing something deeply true within you, even if it doesn't quite make sense logically at the moment.

Curiosity:

Have you felt your curiosity awakening? Imagination is a powerful human gift often dismissed as mere child’s play, but it is much more. Reclaim your imagination and curiosity as superpowers. Allow yourself to explore, question, and dream.

Health:

Be mindful of your health as you navigate through these insights. If past mental or physical imbalances have resurfaced, remember to nourish yourself. Are you resting well, staying hydrated, eating nourishing foods, and moving your body?

Powerful Beings:

We are more powerful than we often realize. Embrace the fact that we have the ability to choose and shape our lives. Tune into your higher self and listen for your purpose on this earth. Be open to surprises, but also make each moment intentional. Call in what you need and create the life you truly believe in.

Organizing:

With the waning moon and autumn’s energy, it’s an excellent time for organizing and cleaning. Whether it’s your photo albums, computer files, wardrobe, or even your thoughts and ideas, use this period to declutter and streamline.

Heart whisper:

Listen to your heart and let it whisper, "I am free." Take a deep breath and, if you’re experiencing challenges due to attachments, explore their roots. Ask yourself, "Why is this so important to me?" and listen compassionately to the answers that arise.

Tarot and Oracle Reading

Queen of Cups

A powerful symbol of emotional abundance and compassionate intuition.

Visual Imagery:

When you look at the Queen of Cups, you see coins overflowing and a woman gazing softly at a chalice. This chalice represents our emotional being and the water element, signifying a state of overflow. The card illustrates the manifestation of abundance through a compassionate heart—a giving that comes without the expectation of receiving anything in return. Love flows endlessly, unlike physical energy, which is more limited.

Guidance from the Queen of Cups:

  • Tap into Generosity: Allow love and kindness to flow freely. This might manifest as a smile, a kind comment, a meditation practice, or a thoughtful gift. Embrace the spirit of generosity and let it guide your actions.

  • Balance with Healthy Boundaries: While it’s important to let love flow, remember to set healthy boundaries around your energy. Ensure that you are giving from a place of abundance rather than depleting yourself.

  • Trust Your Intuition: The Queen of Cups invites you to trust your intuition and pay close attention to your emotions and feelings. Lead with your heart rather than your head. Be receptive to intuitive messages coming through dreams, meditation, or visualization.

  • Embrace Your Emotions: ‘Feel the feels,’ even if they are complex or challenging. Acknowledge and honor your emotional experiences, as you are stronger and more resilient than you might realize.

Dark Mirror Deck: Queen of My World

This week’s card from the Dark Mirror deck is the Queen of My World. The message reads: "I set limits to my world; inside I am queen, outside is lost."

Key Themes:

  • Self-Knowledge and Boundaries: This card emphasizes the importance of knowing oneself—your desires, motivations, and shadows. It encourages you to recognize your own power and sovereignty within your personal realm. While the external world may appear restrictive or chaotic, remember that you have the authority to define and shape your internal world.

  • Intentions and Words: Reflect on the power of your words and intentions. Words are spells, and what you say and think can shape your reality. Be mindful of how you articulate your desires and set your intentions, as these will influence what you bring into your life.

  • Inner Wisdom and Red Thread: The image of the woman in the red dress draws our attention to the red thread—a symbol of our inner medicine and wisdom. This card reminds you to reconnect with your core self, your guiding intuition, and your innate wisdom.

  • Call for Support: Even though the external world may feel challenging, don’t let it deter you from your path. Reach out for support and guidance when needed. Remember, you are not alone in your journey. Seek out what you need and what will help you manifest your intentions.

  • Storytelling Power: You are the storyteller of your own life. Embrace your role as the creator of your narrative. Use this awareness to craft a story that aligns with your deepest truths and desires.

Shaman’s Dream Deck: Grace and Generosity

This week, we draw the card Grace and Generosity from the Shaman’s Dream deck, which brings a powerful message about the art of receiving and the beauty of abundance.

Key Themes:

  • Redefining Receiving: Many of us are conditioned to believe that we must always give something in return when we receive it, or we may feel guilty if we have nothing to offer back immediately. This card invites us to change that narrative. When you receive a compliment or a gift, accept it with a simple, heartfelt "thank you," and allow it to truly penetrate you. Embrace this moment of receiving without the need to immediately reciprocate.

  • Deserving of Gifts: You deserve to receive all the gifts that come your way. It is not a mistake or an anomaly to experience powerful encounters or unexpected, mysterious gifts. They are part of your journey and your abundance.

  • Abundance Through Softness: Full expression and softness are signs of true abundance. You are overflowing with loving awareness, which is the greatest gift you can offer. Stay connected to your heart and keep it open. This openness allows you to act as a channel between the physical world and the spiritual realm, enhancing your ability to give and receive with grace.

  • Heart Connection: Let your heart remain open, serving as a bridge to the physical world and allowing the flow of grace and generosity to move through you. This connection will support not only how you receive but also how you express and share your own gifts.

Simple Altar Ideas

  1. Cup of Water: Central element to symbolize the water element.

  2. Silvers and Whites: Use silver or white cloth, candles, or decorations.

  3. Leaves and Old Flowers: Arrange dried leaves and old flowers around the altar.

  4. Symbols: Add simple symbols of the waning moon (e.g., crescent moon cut-outs).

  5. Crystals: Include clear or blue crystals (e.g., quartz or aquamarine).

  6. Paper and Pen: Write down what you wish to release.

Weekly Ritual: Releasing and Balancing with Water and Earth

Purpose: To release what no longer serves you and restore balance through the elements of water and earth.

Materials Needed:

  • A cup of water

  • A small bowl or dish for the water

  • Your altar or a sacred space

Steps:

  1. Prepare Your Space: Set up your altar or sacred space where you will perform the ritual. Place the cup of water on the altar, and take a moment to center yourself with deep breaths.

  2. Set Your Intention: Hold the cup of water in your hands and focus on what you wish to release. This could be physical, emotional, or mental energy that is causing imbalance in your life. Visualize these energies as heavy or stagnant and imagine them being absorbed into the water.

  3. Offer Your Release: As you hold the water, speak aloud or silently what you are letting go of. For example: "I offer this water the energy that no longer serves me. I release the weight of [specific issue] and let it flow into this sacred element."

  4. Thank the Water: Express gratitude to the water for holding and carrying away these energies. Say: "Thank you, water, for absorbing and holding what I release. You are a vessel of transformation."

  5. Release to the Earth: Carefully pour the water onto the earth outside, or into a plant or garden if you can. If you are indoors and cannot go outside, you can pour it into a houseplant or a dish that will be eventually discarded outside. As you do this, visualize the earth absorbing and neutralizing the energy, restoring balance.

  6. Express Gratitude: Thank the earth for its support in processing and balancing the energy. Say: "Thank you, Earth, for receiving and transforming what I release. You restore balance and harmony."

  7. Close the Ritual: Take a moment to reflect on the ritual, feeling the shift in energy. Sit quietly and connect with your intention of renewal and balance. You may choose to journal or meditate briefly to integrate the experience.

Mantra for the Week

"I am a sovereign being, grounded in grace and abundance. I honor my emotional flow and set clear boundaries, allowing love to flow freely while protecting my energy. I embrace my intuition and receive gifts with gratitude, knowing that every encounter enriches my journey. I am a storyteller in my life, using my inner wisdom to create and manifest my truth. With an open heart and a spirit of generosity, I navigate challenges and celebrate my path, trusting that I am supported and guided in every moment."
