Sidereal Astrology. The Week Ahead
Theme: Healing, Integration and the Medicine of Ophiuchus
8-14th November 2025
We've moved to Instagram Lives every Sunday at 10am PST. Watch Recording HERE
I have started adding these weekly notes to the blog because so many women in this community are stepping away from Instagram or choosing to spend less time there.
This week carries the steady transformative fire of Ophiuchus. It is a time that invites healing, clarity and the soft return to inner authority.
Why the Sidereal Sky Matters
Before stepping into the week it helps to understand why sidereal astrology looks different from the tropical zodiac many people learn first.
Sidereal astrology follows the true sky and the actual constellations above us. The constellations are not equal in size and they include Ophiuchus, a thirteenth constellation that the tropical zodiac does not use.
Tropical astrology follows the seasons instead of the stars. It divides the year into twelve equal symbolic parts and has its roots in a time when the seasonal markers aligned closely with the sky. Over thousands of years the Earth’s axis has shifted. This slow drift means the seasonal zodiac no longer matches the positions of the Sun and Moon in the actual sky.
In the true sky the Sun is in Ophiuchus now. Sidereal astrology honours what is physically present above us.

A Season of Healing and Inner Authority
The name Ophiuchus comes from the Greek Ophioukhos which means Serpent Holder. It belongs to the story of Asclepius, pronounced As KLEE pee us, an ancient healer said to have learned his medicine from watching the serpent shed its skin. In myth he witnessed a serpent renew another with a healing herb, a reminder that the earth teaches when we slow down enough to see.
The serpent’s shedding has long symbolised regeneration, wisdom and the body’s ability to heal. This is why the serpent coiled around a staff became the emblem of medicine in so many traditions.
As the Sun moves from Scorpio into Ophiuchus the tone changes. Scorpio reveals truth. Ophiuchus helps you integrate what you have found. Its fire is slow and transformative. It burns away what no longer belongs and strengthens the part of you that knows how to begin again.
This is a threshold in the year that helps you remember your own medicine.
The Moon this Week
The Moon offers a soft arc through Cancer, Leo and Virgo which creates a movement from feeling, to expression, to embodiment.
Cancer carries the sensitivity of water and cardinal energy. It helps us listen more deeply to inner tides.Leo brings the warmth of fire and fixed energy. It supports courage, visibility and the desire to speak truth.Virgo brings the clarity of earth and mutable energy. It supports discernment, refinement and practical healing.
Together they shape the rhythm of the days.
Day by Day
Monday
Sun in Ophiuchus.
Moon in Cancer.
Element water.
Modality cardinal.
The Cancer Moon softens the fierce honesty of Ophiuchus. It invites you to feel the truth before you speak it. This is a day for intuition, gentleness and emotional protection. Listen to your inner waters before you move.
Tuesday to Thursday
Sun in Ophiuchus.
Moon in Leo.
Element fire.
Modality fixed.
The Leo Moon brings warmth and expression to the week. It feeds the transformative fire of Ophiuchus and lifts your voice. Confidence rises and the threads you uncovered in Scorpio and Ophiuchus begin to take shape in your words and actions. These are days of creative flow, warm self trust and the courage to be seen.
Friday to Sunday
Sun in Ophiuchus.
Moon in Virgo.
Element earth.
Modality mutable.
The Virgo Moon grounds the energy of the week. The emotional work done earlier settles into the body and clarity grows. These days support organisation, practical healing and simple real steps. Simplicity becomes medicine and integration begins. This is a gentle and steady close to the week.
Reflection for the Days Ahead
• What truth has been rising in me and how can I honour it with patience
• Which layer of my life feels ready to shed and which part of me is asking to grow
• How can I listen to my body as a teacher rather than a problem to solve
