The Snow Moon: February’s Full Moon and Our 13 Moons Journey 🌕❄️

Welcome!

This is the second step in our 13 Moons Journey. Each moon offers a unique energy, inviting us to align with nature’s rhythms and deepen our connection to the cycles within and around us.

As we move through this second moon, the Snow Moon, we come to honor the stillness of winter (in the northern hemisphere) and the hidden growth that takes place beneath the surface. We are reminded that, just like nature, our own personal growth sometimes requires patience, rest, and trust.

At the end of these 13 moons, we will come together to reflect on the seeds we’ve planted, the challenges we’ve overcome, and the transformations we’ve embraced along the way.

When to Tune Into the Snow Moon’s Energy

The Snow Moon will reach its peak on February 12, 2025, at 13:53 GMT, which is 5:53 a.m. PST and 1:53 p.m. UK time.

During this time, the Snow Moon offers us a powerful opportunity to tune into both gratitude and reflection. It’s a chance to celebrate how far you've come, check in with the intentions we set during the dark moon, and acknowledge any challenges or subconscious patterns rising to the surface.

The Symbolism of the Snow Moon

The Snow Moon derives its name from the heavy snowfalls that traditionally blanket the Northern Hemisphere during February. This moon carries the energy of nurturing and hidden potential, symbolizing how life continues to develop quietly beneath nature’s frozen cover.

In times before, the Snow Moon was a symbol of survival, resilience, and the quiet strength required to endure the harshest part of winter. Many Indigenous cultures, such as the Cherokee and Algonquin, recognized it by names like the Bone Moon and Hunger Moon, reflecting the challenges of scarce food and freezing temperatures.

Yet, within this struggle lay a powerful lesson: nature’s ability to endure, preserve, and regenerate.

Just as the earth lay dormant beneath a blanket of snow, ancient communities understood that rest and patience were vital for future growth. The Snow Moon brought strength by reminding people to trust in nature’s cycles, knowing that even in times of scarcity and hardship, inner growth and renewal were taking place.

It was a time to reflect on past hardships, find gratitude for small victories, and gather wisdom for future seasons.

By embracing rest and conserving energy, they harnessed the strength needed to face challenges, emerging with renewed vitality when spring returned. This ancient wisdom resonates today, encouraging us to nurture our internal growth during moments of stillness and trust in the process of transformation.

Reflection Questions for Today:

  • In what areas of my life do I feel like I am “enduring the winter,” and how can I find strength in this stillness?

  • What small victories, even in challenging times, am I grateful for?

  • How can I allow myself to rest and preserve energy without guilt, knowing it will lead to future growth?

  • What hardships have I overcome recently, and how can I honor the resilience it took to do so?

  • How can trusting life’s cycles help me embrace moments of uncertainty or stagnation.

"Beneath the snow, seeds lie dormant, full of potential—just as your inner intentions are quietly gathering energy."

Full Moon Energy: Nurturing, Gratitude, and Releasing

The full moon represents the peak of energy within the lunar cycle, a time when everything comes to fruition and the moon’s light fully illuminates what lies within and around us. Although this energy may seem to contrast with the reflective and quiet nature of the Snow Moon, it instead reveals the deeper truth that all aspects of life—birth, death, growth, rest, and rebirth—coexist simultaneously.

Just as the snow protects dormant seeds that will bloom in spring, the full moon reminds us that progress and rest, joy and reflection, creation and release, all exist in harmony.

This is a time to celebrate progress and tune into gratitude for what has grown and unfolded, even if it is not fully visible. The full moon’s light also reveals what may be holding us back—offering an opportunity to reflect on what needs to be released to make space for further growth. In honoring this duality, we recognize that letting go is as much a part of the process as creating, and both serve to nurture our evolving path.

Reflection Questions:

  • How can I honor both my progress and the parts of me still in the process of healing or waiting to emerge?

  • What beliefs, habits, or emotional patterns am I ready to release under the full moon’s light?

  • How can I celebrate the life cycles that coexist within me—times of rest, growth, and change?

  • Where in my life am I being called to balance gratitude with honest reflection on what no longer serves me?

  • What reminders of nature’s balance—life, death, rebirth—can help me trust the process of letting go?

The Full Moon is connected to the Mother archetype and the energy of summer, bringing themes of:

  • Nourishment: Tending to what has already been planted

  • External connection: Celebrating with others or acknowledging your connection to the earth

  • Deepening: Exploring any lessons or emotions that have surfaced since the dark moon

  • Resting in abundance: Allowing yourself to enjoy what is blooming while remaining gentle with yourself

Snow Visualization Practice

Close your eyes and invite the energy of the winter landscape into your awareness. See yourself walking through a quiet forest blanketed in snow beneath the glowing full moon.

The cold air bites gently at your skin, and the snow crunches softly beneath your feet. The world is still, yet teeming with hidden life.

As you walk, feel the stillness around you and within you.

What do you notice?

What emotions rise as you reflect on the quiet strength of nature during this season?

Allow the snow’s energy to wash over you, reminding you to:

  • Protect and nurture what you are quietly cultivating

  • Honor the process of resting and rejuvenating

  • Trust that beneath the stillness, growth is happening

Full Moon Practices: Celebrate, Reflect, and Nourish

5-Minute Snow Breath Meditation:

  • Sit comfortably. Breathe in through your nose, imagining crisp, cool winter air filling your lungs.

  • Exhale slowly, releasing tension and stagnant energy.

  • With each breath, visualize the snow melting, revealing fertile soil and new life beneath. Trust that the seeds of your intentions are safe and growing.

Water Blessing Ritual:

  • Fill a bowl with water and place it in front of you. Whisper intentions of patience, renewal, and nourishment into the water.

  • Dip your fingers into the water and anoint your heart, womb, and third eye, symbolizing connection to your intuition and emotional flow.

Gratitude and Check-In Writing Practice:

  • Write down three things you are grateful for right now, even if they are small or hidden.

  • Reflect on what has risen since the dark moon—both progress and challenges.

  • Write down any subconscious patterns or emotional wounds that are surfacing and explore what they are asking you to heal or release.

Shake Dance for Emotional Clearing (5-10 minutes):

  • Put on music that reflects your current mood. Let your body move freely to release any pent-up energy or emotional stagnation.

  • Focus on grounding through your feet as you shake and move, releasing what no longer serves you.

As we continue on this 13-moon journey, let the Snow Moon teach us about trusting the unseen growth, honoring cycles of rest, and celebrating the small victories. Be patient with yourself, knowing that everything you need is already within you—waiting for the perfect time to bloom. 🌕❄️

Sidereal Astrology

Sidereal vs. Tropical Astrology

Sidereal astrology uses the real positions of the stars in the sky to create your chart. It differs from tropical astrology. Because the Earth’s position slowly shifts over time, sidereal astrology reflects where the stars actually are today, while tropical astrology keeps the zodiac signs fixed to the seasons. As a result, your zodiac sign might be different in sidereal astrology compared to tropical astrology.

Sun in Capricorn: Earth Element

Sun in Transition: From Capricorn to Aquarius 🌞

As the Sun moves through the final degrees of Capricorn and begins its shift into Aquarius, the air may feel thick with transition. Capricorn, with its steady, earthy wisdom, has been guiding us through deep self-evaluation, discipline, and responsibility.

It has asked us to confront our foundations, uncover our limits, and assess what we’ve built.

Now, as we move into the freedom-seeking energy of Aquarius, we’re being invited to break free, redefine, and expand.

Aquarius, the visionary, opens the gates to new possibilities, reminding us that the structures we’ve built don’t have to confine us—they can support us as we expand into the unknown. But transitions like this, especially when they touch on deeply woven wounds, can feel like teething pains. Old memories, beliefs, and emotions may rise, asking to be acknowledged, held, and finally released.

What you thought defined you may no longer fit. The stories, roles, and limitations that shaped your past are beginning to loosen their grip. This is not a loss; it’s a liberation. What once felt like permanent aspects of your identity may now be revealed as illusions waiting to be let go of.

From Seriousness to Flow: Embracing the Shift

Moving from Capricorn’s serious, grounded nature to Aquarius’s eccentric, flowing expression can feel like taking off heavy boots after a long hike. It’s been heavy, yes—but you’re ready. The energy shift will invite you to channel your efforts toward connections and causes that resonate with your soul.

You may notice challenges arise, particularly in relationships or areas of communication. But these challenges are gifts—they hold the potential to help you heal inner wounds, rewrite old narratives, and rise into a deeper sense of belonging.

Calling in All Parts of Ourselves

This transition isn’t about cutting away parts of who you are. Instead, it’s about integrating all aspects of yourself from a place of true love and compassion. The wounds that surface now are not personal attacks—they are opportunities to understand, heal, and move forward as a whole being.

As Aquarius teaches us, communication will begin to take place beyond spoken words. You may start to explore the power of nonverbal connection, body language, energetic exchanges, and conscious presence. This is an embodied and experiential awakening to conscious communication—one that transcends language and leads to deeper understanding.

If the Mind Feels Burnt Out

Perhaps you’ve felt a mental burnout this week—your thoughts running in circles, the weight of decisions pressing down. Don’t throw away the work you’ve done. This is about to pass. Take a deep breath and reflect on how far you’ve already come. The inner work you’ve been doing is paying off, even if it doesn’t feel that way yet.

A Moment to Pause and Honor the Process

You’ve allowed space for these wounds and challenges to emerge. Now, honor them gently. Slow down. Breathe. Be tender with yourself. This is not a race. As you move through this threshold, trust the liminal space you’re in—it holds wisdom you’ll need as you step forward.

Take this time to meditate on your highest self—the version of you that is free from societal limitations and outdated narratives. Visualize yourself rooted in possibility, unhooked from the stories that no longer define you. Trust that the discomfort is only temporary, much like the pain of teething, signaling new growth and expansion.

Affirmation:

I am patient with myself as I release what no longer serves me. I trust that I am being guided toward my highest potential, even when it feels uncertain.

Reflection Questions:

  • Where are you feeling this transition most in your life right now?

  • What old beliefs or narratives are ready to be released?

  • How can you integrate both the disciplined wisdom of Capricorn and the visionary freedom of Aquarius into your life?

  • What relationships or connections feel ready to shift toward deeper understanding?

  • How can you honor this liminal space without rushing through it?

🌿 Let yourself flow with this transition. Growth is happening, even when it feels uncertain.

Moon in Leo

Moon in Leo: Welcoming the Energy of the Lion 🦁

As the Moon moves through Leo, what sensations rise within you when you call in the spirit of the lion? Across cultures, the lion has long been revered as a symbol of courage, protection, and leadership. She walks with pride, elegance, and a deep-rooted sense of self-worth. Her presence is both fierce and graceful, a reminder that strength is not only found in power, but in confidence, play, and self-expression.

Let Energy Flow: Into Your Home, Family, and Prayers

Leo’s warm, heart-centered energy naturally flows toward home, family, and your personal sanctuary. Just as a lioness fiercely protects her pride, you are being called to nurture the spaces and relationships that feed your soul.

But remember, the lioness doesn’t waste her energy. She sets firm boundaries and protects herself and her loved ones without apology. Leo’s wisdom invites you to do the same.

This is a time to honor your power and presence—to hold yourself with the same unapologetic pride the lioness carries as she strides through life. You don’t have to shrink or give your energy away to others’ demands. Instead, embrace your power and move with intention, knowing you are worthy of taking up space.

Reconnecting to Play, Joy, and Sensuality

Leo’s energy reminds us to celebrate ourselves without apology. The lioness does not question her worth; she feels it in her body, her movement, and her presence. This moon cycle invites you to reconnect with joy, creativity, and play.

Let go of perfection. Let yourself dance, laugh, create, and move with abandon. Leo’s energy gives you permission to play, a playful release that lightens the emotional weight you may have carried recently.

Perhaps there have been challenges this week—wounds, fears, or limiting beliefs rising to the surface. But this is a release, not a setback. Let it move through you. As it does, you’ll experience a lightness and freedom waiting on the other side.

This transition is perfectly aligned with the Sensual Wild Woman Online Retreat. Sign up below:

Affirmation:

I honor my unique expression. I allow joy, creativity, and play to flow through me freely. My strength lies in my authenticity.

Reflection Question:

  • What makes you feel alive?

  • What activities ignite your spirit and allow your inner light to shine freely?

Leo’s energy reminds us that play is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. Let yourself shine, dance, and feel fully alive. 🌞

Full Moon Ritual

Light a candle and let its glow warm your fingertips as you close your eyes, breathing in the night air. Feel the moon’s radiant energy wrap around you like a golden cloak, awakening the lioness within.

In the silence, let your heart speak—what burdens, fears, or stories are you ready to release?

Whisper them softly into the flame, watching them melt away as the fire dances. Now, with each breath, draw in the playful spirit of Leo, imagining your body filling with light, joy, and untamed creativity.

Place your hands over your heart and say, "I am a spark of life, radiant and free. My joy is my power."

Blow out the candle, knowing the flame still burns brightly within you.

See below for upcoming events, hope to see you there!!!!

Sending lots of Love,

Danielle xx
