Welcome to the fifth gathering of our 13 Moon Journal Club: the Flower Moon.
Can you sense the energy of spring yet?
This month’s Flower Moon reaches its fullest glow at 12:56 PM EDT (17:55 UK time) on Monday, May 12. While those below the equator prepare for autumn’s harvest, we here are celebrating a season moving into bloom.
Oh before we start, here's an invite:
The Flower Moon’s Invitation
Flowers are masters of wholehearted living. Without hesitation or fear, they open their petals wide, trusting that in offering their fragrance, form, and color they serve the world around them.
They stand fearless in their beauty, attracting bees, butterflies, and human hearts alike—inviting us into the dance of co‑creation. This is true reciprocity.
In every blossom lies a quiet miracle: beneath the surface, roots have labored unseen, drawing nourishment from earth and water, establishing a foundation strong enough to support riotous beauty above.
And when petals fall, they release their gifts to the soil, ensuring that what comes next has fertile ground in which to grow.
This moon asks us to remember that our own cycles mirror theirs:
Vision Made Real: Just as flowers inhabit the fullness of their design, we too have a unique expression to share.
Trust in Process: Every unseen effort—every moment of learning, of rest, of preparation—feeds the burst of creativity we now enjoy.
Letting Go: Releasing what no longer serves us is not loss but nourishment for our next unfolding.
“In full bloom we see our truest selves—unfolded, offering, alive. Like flowers, may we stand fearless in our beauty, trusting that every petal released contains the seed of what’s next.”
Cultivating Your Flower Moon Practice
Five Journal Prompts to Inspire Your Bloom
Where in my life do I feel called to fully show up, without holding any part of myself back?
Which quietly tended “roots” am I finally ready to acknowledge and honor?
What simple act or ritual could sprinkle more joy and color into my everyday?
Which old habit, belief, or fear do I feel unhooked from?
How can I lean into life’s natural rhythms—knowing that opening and releasing are both essential to my unfolding?
A Simple Petal‑Offering Ritual
Gather a small handful of fresh or dried flower petals and find a quiet spot—perhaps in your garden or by a sunny window. Place the petals in a bowl and sit comfortably with them.
Ground Yourself. Feel your feet or seat rooted to the Earth. Take three deep breaths, allowing your body to settle.
Acknowledge Your Roots. Close your eyes and visualize the unseen roots of a flowering plant—steady, patient, and strong. Whisper thanks for the foundations you’ve built in your own life.
Offer and Release. Holding each petal in turn, speak aloud either an intention you wish to fully embody (“I stand in my power”) or something you’re ready to let go (“I release my self‑doubt”). Drop the petal into the bowl.
Declare Your Bloom. When all petals rest in the bowl, place your hands over your heart and declare:
“I stand in my fullest bloom. I trust this cycle of opening and letting go.”
Close with Trust. Take three more breath cycles, imagining your intentions carried on the breeze. Scatter the petals outside or bury them in the earth as a final offering.
As the Flower Moon waxes and wanes, may you remember that true beauty is never forced—it arises naturally when our roots are strong and our hearts are open.
Trust that your unfolding is precisely timed, and allow yourself to bloom without apology.
